Kazuto Yaga

Born in 1995, he joined the Matsuda Yumeho Taiko group at the age of six. Under the guidance of Ryukyu Koku Matsuri Taiko, he began to study Eisa drumming and lion dance intensively. Since then, he has performed on numerous prestigious stages, including the NHK Hall in Tokyo, as well as in Taiwan and Hong Kong. He has also taken part in numerous festivals, including the Uchinanchu World Congress and the Eisa Festival in Shinjuku, Tokyo. In 2019, he was appointed leader of the third generation of the Matsuda Yumeho Taiko group.In recent years, he has also been involved in the creative arts. He took part in the “Swiss-Okinawa Kizuna” project, produced by Garaman Hall, and performed in the contemporary dance show “Tunukwai”. He feels a strong connection to local traditions and is committed to preserving them, whilst at the same time seeking new forms of expression through Eisa drumming and lion dance.
