“UMUI • GUARDIANS OF TRADITIONS” combines a film with an immersive performance that explores Okinawa’s cultural heritage.

The film highlights the dances and music of the Ryūkyū Islands, ancestral traditions passed down from generation to generation. This award-winning documentary bears witness to these precious customs, which are under threat from the passage of time. It is followed by a stage performance allowing the audience to discover, live, a vibrant array of the archipelago’s culture. Presented without interruption, the film-performance offers total immersion, providing an authentic and captivating experience of Okinawa’s heritage.
