Yomo Tagami

Originally from the mysterious island of Yonaguni, at the far west of the Japanese archipelago, Yomo grew up in contact with the traditional arts of Okinawa, following from an early age in the footsteps of her father, a renowned master flautist. In this still largely male world, she is one of the few women to find her place. Later based in Tokyo, she continued her exploration of traditional music by adding the sanshin. Now based in Switzerland, she pursues this mission across Europe with the Utakiambi ensemble.
